Are Tieks Worth It?

Some of you may know that I am studying in Copenhagen, Denmark this semester, which is the main reason why I have been MIA on this blog and have been fully present on my abroad blog - blondeventyr.weebly.com  (check it out!!)

Packing for abroad was a challenge, and that is the biggest understatement. How could I possibly fit three seasons of clothes for four months in two suitcases?? I packed my clothes, made my way to packing the little things, and held off on the shoes because it was simply too hard. Long story short, I was only able to fit one pair of ballet flats in my suitcase.

As much as I love my flats, imagining walking miles around the cobblestone city streets in them didn't sit well with me. I remember reading about Tieks, the most versatile comfortable ballet flats in the world. I thought no way these flats would be as comfortable as they say they are and work as my one and only pair of flats abroad...

Tieks are 100% worth it! I absolutely adore these flats.
I wear them at least 5-6 times a week, they go with everything, and I have not once had blisters or feet cramps from wearing them too much. Breaking them in is not necessary, and they provide ample support. I will agree the steep price will make you take a step back, but it's an investment worth investing in.

One pair of Tieks is not enough! My leopard Tieks have been getting some serious wear in the streets of Copenhagen. See where my Tieks have been so far!

Midi Skirts...

Atlanta is HOT! They don't call it "hotlanta" for no reason.

Dressing for work every morning has been a struggle on those really hot days. Pants are normally the go to corporate dress attire, but when you start sweating uncontrollably on your way into the building, you rethink your decision to wear pants.  Midi skirts have been my absolute favorite summer staple. Whether I'm going to work, or on the go touring the city  - midi skirts are perfect.

I had a fun weekend with my mom last weekend - we visited the Swan House in Buckhead and  it may be my favorite historical landmark in all of Atlanta, probably ranking in the top five of all time. Scenes from the Hunger Games were filmed here. The grand architecture and  Versailles-esque (on a very small scale) backyard is so beautiful surrounded by big green trees.

Me and my midi skirt loved the Swan House!

Hello Atlanta...

For those of you who don't know, I have moved to Atlanta for the summer! I've been here for almost 5 weeks (excuse the lack of recent blog posts), and I am most definitely already obsessed with this amazing city - so many things to do, so many people to meet, so many boutiques to hit, and so many restaurants to experience.

Yesterday morning, I went to an amazing brunch in Kirkwood called 'Sun in my Belly.' This place has bomb breakfast, a picturesque rustic feel to the inside, and wonderful people serving you. Here's a little run down of my Saturday morning!

OOTD: Espadrilles

This weekend I have repeatedly worn my recent obsession - Espadrilles. I was lucky enough to bring home some Spanish tradition from my adventure last summer.  Easily convertible from comfy and casual to a classic summer staple, it's the perfect go-to shoe for the spring and summer. Get on board now!

Most of us, including myself, aren't lucky enough to get on a plane and jet off to Spain to buy a pair of handmade shoes, so here are my favorite, easily accessible espadrilles.

Pre-Spring Whites...

These past few days in North Carolina have been absolutely frigid with highs in the upper 20's... Burr!! I'm already feeling the arrival of spring fever - so what better way to include some Spring vibes with whites and neutrals?

Fall Flowers...

It's November, which typically implies that leaves are in the midst of changing colors - or have already turned the striking oranges and reds and have fallen to the ground. But to be honest, I'm quite confused on the season right now here in North Carolina. Half the trees are already bare limbed, and the other half still have their very green summer leaves intact.
So, instead of wishing for the ground to be covered in pretty leaves, I decided to take initiative and bring some fall inside to my apartment with some seasonal flowers from Whole Foods.

I've grown up hearing the fashion rule - don't wear prints on prints - and it is my favorite rule to break:) The key to pairing different prints and patterns together, is to make sure a color is kept constant in both the top and the bottom. Experiment and try on different clothes,  sometimes the prints on patterns will surprise you.
My last outfit post highlighted my printed pants and oh wow, those would be some cool pants to pair a printed blouse with!

What are your favorite prints to pair together?

Xo,

North Carolina springs are hotter than Maryland springs, that's for sure, but these low 60 degree, NC spring nights are to die for. A breezy tunic and printed pants will make for the perfect spring night outfit, as this did! With this spring season comes pairing fun prints with solids... or even more prints.

I also wanted to share that Anthropologie has a Mother's Day sale this whole weekend - 20% off all items with the code "XOXO." Anthro sure did me well in this outfit (tunic, pants, and necklace!), so get shopping!! Xo,
